My Dream is a Reality

A Little About me

Jimmy Richman

I have been a Tampa area resident since November 1974.  I started and built Servpro of Tampa Bay, a network of 20 Servpro Franchises.  Throughout 42 years, the Tampa area Servpro franchisees produced award winning results.  I retired in August 2016 selling all of my interest in Servpro.

Music has always been my go-to medium for relaxation and a more direct route for prayer.  In my opinion all music in all genres is God’s voice.

I attend a contemporary Jazz cruise for 1 week every year with the likes of George Benson, Brian Culbertson, Marcus Miller, Jonathan Butler and so on. This will be my 10th year.  I have an amazing opportunity to meet and mingle with virtually every artist.  It is here where I met my influence for my new career. Alan Stein, an attorney from New York, was busy promoting  bigname contemporary jazz artists such as Boney James and Brian Culbertson.  Over the past 2 years I have attended his shows at the Madison Theatre in Garden City.  Alan was kind enough to give me an inside view of the music performance industry. I really wanted to bring these grammy level musicians to a Tampa area venue.  The Central Park Performing Arts Center in Largo Fl. And I worked out an agreement where they would take money that I raise for Suncoast Performing Arts Foundation and book 4 grammy level contemporary jazz musicians for the 2016-2017 season.  I raised $12,000 for the Foundation and we had Bassist Stanley Clark, Jeff Lorber, a founder of contemporary jazz,  Richard Elliot, sax extroadinaire and last was Gerald Albright , a multi grammy saxophonist.

A great friend of mine for 25 years and amazing Japanese Chef, Charlie Lam had not been in business for almost 2 years and decided to open a sushi and Japanese restaurant in a free standingbuilding he owned that was currently a Mexican Restaurant.  He knew of my love of music and desire to help bring quality live music to the Tampa area.  Because there was a large open dining area he agreed to let me put a live music venue in his building.  Hence the birth of Cleveland Street Productions LLC.

I was blessed to develop a relationship with world reknown keyboardist, Ron Reinhardt.  He was wanting a local place for him to play , when not on the road playing. We also have amazing bassist in Tim George and an incredible drummer, Dave Reinhardt.  All have played on stages around the world.  One Wednesday per month, there will be a chart driven national act in contemporary jazz.

Joey Donovan of Donovan Audio Designs is our permanent sound engineer. A true professional.

Charlie’s Sushi at 1200 Cleveland Street , Clearwater, Fl is a full service restaurant and bar open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner 10AM – 11PM daily.  With 150 + seats available , we want music lovers to arrive before 7PM.  These shows will have a cover charge for each reservation.  Charlie Lam and family are amazing hosts.

This project is a post retirement career.  I am 67 yr old and have dealt with type 1 diabetes since 1961.  My earning career with Servpro is over.  My goals with the cover charge,  is to pay and help musicians develop their careers.  I have also committed money from all shows to give to the JDRF ( Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ). 80% of donation goes to research in finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

My dream is a reality.
